This Privacy Policy explains how Auritrack ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Auritrack mobile application, website, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us:
- Account and profile details such as your name, email address, and preferences.
- Financial information you manually enter or import, such as transactions, budgets, accounts, bills, and the contents of statements or files (CSV, PDF, or spreadsheet) you upload.
- Messages and content you submit when you contact support or communicate with us.
Information we collect automatically:
- Device and technical data such as IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and access times.
- Usage data such as the features you use and how you interact with the Service, collected through analytics tools.
Information from third parties:
If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from that provider. We do not log into or import data directly from your bank accounts or financial institutions.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including financial tracking, budgeting, and reporting features.
- To generate summaries, categories, reports, and insights, including by sending the documents and data you submit to a third-party AI service for processing (see Section 3).
- To process subscriptions, in-app purchases, and credits, and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To communicate with you, including service updates, security notices, and responses to your enquiries.
- To send push notifications and reminders where you have enabled them.
- To secure the Service and comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. AI Processing of Your Data
Several features of the Service use artificial intelligence, including document and statement parsing, transaction categorisation, the in-app chat assistant, and automated insights and reports. To provide these features, the content you submit for them is transmitted to OpenRouter, a third-party AI service, which routes each request to underlying large-language-model providers (which may include providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) in order to generate a response.
What we send. The content sent for these features may include the messages, uploaded documents, receipts and statements, voice recordings, and the financial data (such as transactions and budgets) needed to perform the task you requested. We send only what is necessary for that task, and we do not include your name, email address, or account credentials in the content sent for AI processing.
Your consent. Because this shares your content with a third party, we ask for your explicit, one-time consent inside the app before any content is sent to AI for the first time. If you decline, these AI features are not used and no content is sent for AI processing. You may choose not to use AI features at any time.
We do not sell your data. We do not authorise OpenRouter or its model providers to use your content to train their models for their own purposes where such control is available to us, and providers acting on our behalf are contractually required to protect your information with safeguards comparable to those described in this Policy and to use it only to provide services to us. AI-generated output can be inaccurate or incomplete and is provided for informational purposes only; it is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. 4. Data Security
We take your privacy seriously and use encryption in transit and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no system can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for using a strong, unique password and protecting access to your devices.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
On our website we use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and analyse usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may limit some functionality.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers: trusted third parties who process data on our behalf to operate the Service, under contracts that require them to keep it confidential, use it only to provide services to us, and protect it with safeguards comparable to those described in this Policy. These include Supabase (hosting, database, and authentication), OpenRouter (AI processing — see Section 3), PostHog (product analytics), OneSignal (push notifications), RevenueCat (subscription management), and the Apple App Store, Google Play, and payment processors such as Paystack and Polar (payments and in-app purchases).
- Legal compliance: where required to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred to the successor entity.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, where data-protection laws may differ. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this Policy.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- access, correct, or delete your personal information;
- object to or restrict how we process it;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

9. Data Retention
We retain your information only for as long as your account is active and you are using the Service. When your account or data is deleted — whether you delete it yourself from within the app or it is removed automatically — it is permanently and irreversibly erased from our systems and cannot be recovered. We do not retain your personal data after deletion, except where we are required by law to keep limited records (for example for tax or fraud-prevention purposes), in which case only the minimum information required is kept for the minimum period required. You may delete your account and data at any time from within the app.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. Please review their policies before providing them with your information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, by notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
