The Best Budgeting Apps in Europe for 2026

Most best-of lists are written for the US, and half the apps on them do not work in euros or cannot see a European bank account. This list only includes apps that are available in Europe, and we ranked them on three things: how they handle the euro and other currencies, how well they connect to European banks, and what they cost. Auritrack is first because it works in any currency without relying on bank coverage in your country, but it has no live bank sync, so the open-banking apps below suit people who want automatic feeds.

1

Auritrack

Free app + web from $3/mo

Auritrack works in euros, pounds, złoty or any other currency with live exchange rates, and it does not depend on your bank being supported: chat a purchase or upload a statement (PDF, CSV or Excel) and the AI logs and categorizes it. Manual tracking and budgets are free on the mobile apps and Telegram with AI pay-as-you-go, the web app is from $3/month, and there is no live open-banking connection yet.

Wallet by BudgetBakers

Free tier; Premium from ~$3.99/mo

Wallet by BudgetBakers is the most complete European-friendly tracker here, with bank sync in many countries, multi-currency accounts, shared household accounts and solid reports. Manual tracking is free, but bank sync and full export need Premium from about $3.99/month, and the app can feel busy.

3

Lunch Money

$10/mo or ~$100/yr

Lunch Money has the best multi-currency handling on the list, with 160+ currencies converted at historical rates, bank sync through Plaid, GoCardless and SimpleFIN, and CSV import as a fallback. It is a good fit if you earn or spend in several currencies, but there is no free tier after the 14-day trial and it costs $10/month or about $100/year.

4

Spendee

Free + Plus $1.99/mo

Spendee is a cheap, visual expense tracker built around multi-currency wallets, and shared wallets let a partner join as a free guest. Bank sync only works in supported countries and needs a paid tier, which starts at $1.99/month.

5

Toshl Finance

Free tier; Pro from ~$2.99/mo

Toshl Finance covers more than 200 currencies and has flexible budgets with a friendly design. Bank sync is limited to paid tiers in supported regions and the free tier caps budgets and accounts, so most regular users end up on Pro from about $2.99/month.

6

Emma

Free + Plus £4.99/mo

Emma is strongest in the UK, where its open-banking coverage and subscription detection are excellent, and it is available to European users with multi-currency support. Outside the UK, check that your banks are supported before paying for Plus at £4.99/month, and note that it has no statement import.

7

YNAB

$14.99/mo or $109/yr

YNAB works in Europe and you can run a budget in euros, with the most disciplined zero-based method on this list. Each budget holds one currency, direct bank import depends on your region, and it costs $109/year with no free tier.

The verdict

For most people in Europe, Auritrack is the easiest place to start, because it handles any currency and does not need your bank to be on a supported list. If you want live bank feeds, Wallet by BudgetBakers has the widest coverage, and Lunch Money is the best choice if you manage money across several currencies. Spendee and Toshl are good low-cost options, Emma is best if you bank in the UK, and YNAB is worth paying for only if you want its strict method.

Frequently Asked Questions

Auritrack is our top pick because it works in euros and any other currency and does not rely on your bank being supported: the AI logs spending from a chat or an uploaded statement. If you want automatic bank feeds, Wallet by BudgetBakers has bank sync in many European countries, and Lunch Money is the strongest choice for people who deal with several currencies.

Yes. Wallet by BudgetBakers, Spendee, Toshl and Emma all have free tiers, though bank sync on Wallet, Spendee and Toshl needs a paid plan. Auritrack is free on iOS, Android and Telegram for manual tracking and budgets, with pay-as-you-go AI logging (the web app needs a subscription from $3/month). Lunch Money and YNAB have no free tier after their trials. Revolut also includes budgeting analytics in its free account, but it only tracks spending on your Revolut card well.

Lunch Money is the most capable, with 160+ currencies and historical exchange rates. Auritrack converts any currency at live rates and lets you log in whichever currency you spent in, Toshl supports more than 200 currencies, and Spendee and Wallet both handle multi-currency accounts. YNAB is the weakest here, since each budget uses a single currency.

Yes. YNAB is available to European users and you can set a budget in euros. The limits are that each budget holds only one currency, direct bank import is only available in supported regions (CSV file import works everywhere), and it costs $14.99/month or $109/year with no free tier.

The EU’s PSD2 rules require banks to give licensed providers access to account data, which is what makes bank sync possible, but each app’s coverage still differs by country and by bank. Wallet by BudgetBakers, Spendee, Toshl and Emma offer bank sync in supported countries, and Lunch Money connects through Plaid, GoCardless and SimpleFIN. Check your own bank on the app’s list before paying. Auritrack skips this step and reads statements from any bank instead.

Any app that serves users in the EU has to comply with GDPR, which gives you the right to access, export and delete your data. None of the apps on this list sells your data to advertisers, according to their listings in our directory. If privacy is your main concern, an app that never needs your bank login, such as Auritrack, reduces how much data you share in the first place.

We only included apps that list Europe as a supported region, then ranked them on euro and multi-currency support, how well they connect to European banks, how much effort the tracking takes, and price. Pricing and features come from each app’s current plans as listed in our directory, and apps that are mainly saving or investing tools were left out.

Bank coverage across Europe is uneven, and Auritrack does not depend on it: you can upload a statement from any bank or chat a purchase in any currency, and the AI categorizes it. The trade-off is that it has no live bank sync yet, so if automatic feeds from a supported bank matter more to you, Wallet by BudgetBakers or Lunch Money will suit you better.
