Digit alternative
The Digit Alternative for Tracking and Budgeting Your Spending
First, a fact worth knowing: Digit is now the Oportun app. The automated saving people liked — it watches your cash flow and quietly moves what it can into savings — still exists under Set & Save. What it never did was track your spending or budget it. If you want to see where your money goes rather than just have some of it swept into savings, Auritrack is the tracking half you are looking for.

Digit set money aside; it never showed you your spending
Digit’s trick was watching your checking account and pulling small, safe amounts into savings so you barely noticed. Genuinely handy, and it lives on inside Oportun. But sweeping a bit into savings is not the same as knowing where the rest goes. Digit never categorised your transactions, never held you to a budget, and never told you why the money was tight in the first place.
Auritrack does that side. You type what you spent and the AI logs and categorises it, or you upload a bank statement and it sorts everything, then it keeps you to a budget. Set it up as your AI budgeting app and let Oportun keep sweeping savings underneath.

Digit: honest strengths and limitations

Limitations

Where Digit genuinely wins, and what happened to it
Digit’s strength was that it was completely hands-off. It learned your income and spending patterns and decided when it was safe to save, so people who could never stick to a manual plan still built up a cushion. Oportun kept that as Set & Save and added banking and personal loans around it. Auritrack does not move money into savings for you, so if hands-off saving is the job you want, that is Oportun’s to do.
The honest wrinkle is the rebrand. The Digit name is retired, the app is now Oportun, and the focus has broadened toward lending. If you came looking for “Digit” and were not sure it still existed, that is why — and it is a fair moment to sort out the tracking side separately.
The half Digit left out
Auritrack is the record and the budget. You set category limits, log spending by chat or by uploading a statement, and see how much of each budget is left before payday. There is no live bank sync yet, so you share a statement rather than a bank login, and you can export everything as PDF or CSV.
It works in every currency with live conversion and runs on the web, Android, iOS and Telegram. Pair it with our savings goal calculator to plan the cushion Set & Save is quietly building.

The honest verdict
Keep using Digit — now Oportun — if the job you want is hands-off automated saving; it does that well and a tracker will not replace it. Add Auritrack if you want to track and budget the spending Digit never showed you, with an AI doing the logging so it actually sticks. Start on the free tier and add the AI features when you want them.
Where Digit still wins

- safe automatic transfers toward named goals
- bundled Oportun banking and personal loans
